Resident Evil 4 known in Japan as Biohazard 4 is a survival horror action game published and developed by Capcom. Before the publication of the game, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 4 would come out exclusively for the Nintendo GameCube, nevertheless was also confirmed a limited edition for PlayStation 2, with additional content. The Nintendo GameCube version was distributed on 11 January 2005 in North America, January 27, 2005 in Japan and March 18, 2005 in Europe for the Sony PlayStation 2 on October 25 in North America, November 4, 2005 in Europe, November 11, 2005 and in Australia on 1 December 2005 in Japan. The PC version was distributed in February 2007, the Nintendo Wii on June 29 of that year. Since September 21, 2011 you can buy the game in a digital version from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

Resident Evil 4 marks a turning point in the series, both in the plot than in the gameplay. All Resident Evil subsequent follow this new type of gameplay based on that of Resident Evil 4. Leon Scott Kennedy is the subject of this chapter, in charge of saving the president’s daughter, Ashley Graham. This threat is linked to a parasite called Las Plagas infected which makes violent and aggressive, but also very strong and durable making them far more dangerous than the zombies. It is the task of Leon, thwart this new threat and save the president’s daughter. The sequel to this game: Resident Evil 5 continues to talk about these parasites called Las Plagas. Despite all these innovations compared to the original series, Resident Evil 4 has become one of the most famous and sold games in the series for all platforms.
